Troop 49 meets every Thursday evening at 7:30 pm at the St. Augustine’s Parish Hall. Any changes to the schedule will be reflected on the Calendar, which is updated regularly. Check back often.

Jul 15-23, 2013: Jamboree 2013!

What is a Jamboree:
Scouting's flagship event is one-of-a-kind. It's a gathering of approximately 45,000 Scouts, leaders, and staff that showcases everything that is great about the BSA and its members. Over the course of 10 summer days, once every four years, the Boy Scouts of America comes together. The result is the National Scout jamboree.
When:
July 15th - 23rd, 2013
Where:
Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve located in Fayette County and Raleigh County in southern West Virginia, adjacent to the New River Gorge National River.
About 10 hours drive from Ossining
Who can attend:
Scout must be First Class rank by 2013
Scout Leaders - they are always in need of additional leadership

Steps:
Parents, visit https://summit.scouting.org/en/Jamboree2013/Pages/default.aspx to create an account. You will need your BSA ID #. Ask your scoutmaster if you don't know yours.
Fill out the application, print it and get it signed by your Scoutmaster
Hand in the signed and completed form to Council
Council is asking for a $150 deposit but it is not due yet, and they have not set a due date for the deposit as of yet
Useful Information:
Our Council has five Troops going made up of 32 boys
Two of the five Troops are filled already! That leaves less then 100 spots left
They are going to set up a payment plan for the entire fee of $1,300, but have not as of yet
One scout from Troop 49 has already registered
